Hey, I am doing a research project on American Truckers and am looking for any interesting stories that you guys have experienced while trucking. Stories that most people wouldn't believe if you told them. Anything involving the supernatural, strange lights, mysterious voices anything like that. Hope you guys have some spooky stories to share. Thank you!

I once saw a Fed Ex ground contractor who wasn't driving like an azz.

Other than that nothing exciting I guess the aliens do not hang out around I-65.

It’s a closely guarded secret that truckers wear seat belts to prevent aliens from sucking them out of their trucks. And during a pre-trip always check the ectoplasm generator fluid.

Nah they hang out around highway 95 in Nevada (close to the test site)

That’s because Amazon recruited all the azzes away from FExG!

Well, last night I passed a cattle hauler AND a FedEx driver in Utah on the flat and I was only going 65 mph in a 75 mph zone!

Hey, Jac T.

This story categorizes as 'scary,' but....I'm not thinking it meets the 'other' parts of your criterion:

The Life, Death, and Resurrection of my Career.

All I've got to share, and it's not even our story. Nothing to add from this household, sorry! My driver has been at it for over 20 years, and the only time he's seen strange 'lights,' et al .. is when he had 'dream driving' set in... (ie ... too tired to drive,) and pulled over.

Sorry you're not finding what you're after! (Other's MMV, however!)

Wait Bruce, why would I check for a fluid. Isn't the pretrip when ya call everyone you know on your blue parrot while on crapper at the Flying J while that daggone computer thingy majiggy on your dash counts 15 minutes to roll? smile.gif

Closest encounter with aliens or the paranormal on the road is listening to Coast 2 Coast.

Strangest thing to happen to me on the road (aside from grown men telling me they ain't wearing panties) was the morning my grandmother passed away. I lived about 4 hours south of the rest of my family. Dad called when I was headed into work around 10pm to let me know she likely wouldn't make it through the night. I had visited her in the hospital a couple days prior and knew it was just a matter of time. I was unloading at my store 10 miles away from the hospital she was at when I got the call from dad saying she was gone. I held it together the rest of the time inside, pulled out of the dock and closed up my doors. After I climbed back in the truck i felt its best to sit for a few minutes and just take in everything so I could focus 100% on driving. There was a knock on my door and a very nice gentleman just out for a leisurely walk (just before 5am on a Sunday) asked if he could pray for me without even mentioning what was going on. This guy didn't seem like some of the nutjobs we see out on the road, he seemed like a very normal dude that was on his daily walk and the lord spoke to him to that I needed a prayer. Ended up talking/praying for a few minutes and afterwards I felt a weight lifted. The emotions really didn't hit me of losing my grandmother and the encounter with this guy until I called my wife 10 minutes later. I've never been much of a religious person but that moment really has stuck with me since.

Lies. You can't claim that without some dashcam footage to back it up lol.

The creepiest thing that I have ever seen was one night in Washington I had just picked up a load of apples and I was on some state routes to get back to the interstate , I kept seeing these small animals darting across the road. I assume they were mice or something and then out of nowhere this giant shadow flew out of the trees and snatched one off the road in front of me. I honestly didn't know owls wingspans were that big lol

This isn't supernatural, it's fully explainable by PTSD.

Long story short, ended up doing first aid on a guy that got stabbed outside of Medford, WI on my way to a post-load scaling. Two dudes ended up in a Beetle Bailey ball in the middle of the road in front of my unit. I had to stop because it was a two lane county road and no way to get around. I leaned on master blaster to clear the road, and the guy on top jumped up and stepped back. The dude on the bottom stands up with a combat knife at the ready.

The guy that had been on the top, let's call him Stormy, comes over to my truck (i kept dropping cell signal and the 911 calls wouldnt go thru, so I'm locked in waiting for a local to call) holding his side, I can see the blood running between his fingers, and knocks on my door. I lower my window about 2 inches, and he says "I need help. I got stabbed and I feel like I'm bleeding out" Surreal. Meanwhile the stabber is sitting in his tinted window SUV about 80 ft away. Separation from stabber, got Stormy on the ground and used his body weight for direct pressure onto a few rolled up t-shirts from my clothing bags, all the while waiting for ol' Stabby to come back and finish the job. A medical type was in one of the cars that finally stopped because that damned tractor trailer was blocking the road, and took over management of Stormy. Finally got thru on 911, one really ****ed dispatcher from all the 911 hangups... Took forever (seems like) for Taylor County to get there. When i finally got cut loose, and ended up at a small independent for the evening I went to sleep. I woke up at 3:11am when my truck door opened, and Stormy climbed into the cab and sat in my driver seat, looking pale as the Nine Horsemen, and looks over his shoulder at me. I started yelling at him to get out of my truck, and kicking at him. When my toe hit the storage locker behind the passenger seat I woke up. Most vivid nightmare ever. I was certain that Stormy had kicked off at 3:11 am by the way he looked and his actions in my dream. Turns out he didn't, but I didn't get that info until two days later when the investigating officer called me back. My message left for him at about 325 am must have been pretty unusual, I can say that for sure.

I was completely in white when the incident started. I was not able to manage the scene because I was running solo, had no 2A component, and no one to watch me while I gave first aid. I was a for-shi* witness, couldn't remember things, wasn't sure of things. It was two sleep cycles before the memory started to coalesce. I used this later as a discussion point for friends that were still on the job.

So, freaky? Yes. Spooky having a dead guy climb into your locked truck? Yep. May not be what you're looking for, but it is my only thing close to paranormal...
